It doesn’t look as if there will be snow at Century Wood this Christmas, but I’ve dug out some photos of previous years with snow, and a time lapse video of snow building up over a few days.
First here is the Log Cabin at the centre of the wood, with smoke from the wood stove. It quickly got comfortably warm inside.
The rides had a scattering of animal tracks, and it’s harder to make out their edges with no leaves on the shrubs and the grass under the snow.
Cock pheasant, tracks of a hare in the snow, and hazel branches and catkins weighed down by the snow.
Finally, a trail camera time lapse sequence, including snow building up over a few days and then melting, with fox, pheasant and grey squirrel making appearances.
